Ninja TV: What to Watch This Weekend

news

Today is a perfect day for a movie night with your favorite Ninja Pizza. After all, several exciting premieres arrived just yesterday, and each one belongs to a different genre.

If you are in the mood for something light, we recommend “Coyote vs. Acme.” It is a comedy featuring iconic cartoon characters and their signature absurd humor. Fans of science fiction, mysteries, and stories about parallel worlds should check out the second season of “Dark Matter.”

And if you are looking for something more serious, there is “The Dog Stars.” Ridley Scott has directed a post-apocalyptic drama about a world after a pandemic and the people trying to survive in it.

“Coyote vs. Acme”

After countless failed attempts to catch the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote decides to change his tactics. This time, instead of another rocket, trap, or giant slingshot, he arms himself with a much more serious weapon: a lawyer.

Coyote sues the Acme Corporation, whose products have let him down at the worst possible moments for years. His case is taken on by a less-than-successful lawyer played by Will Forte, while John Cena’s character represents the company.

The film combines live-action actors with familiar animated characters, turning the classic rivalry between Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner into an absurd courtroom comedy.

Interestingly, the film itself almost suffered the fate of yet another failed Acme invention. Warner Bros. decided not to release the completed movie, but after a lengthy campaign in support of the film, Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights. Now audiences can finally see the result.

“Dark Matter,” Season 2

One of Apple TV’s most notable science-fiction series has returned for a second season.

At the center of the story is still physicist Jason Dessen, who gained the ability to travel between alternative versions of his own life. After the events of the first season, Jason, Daniela, and their son Charlie try to settle into a world that seems safe and finally begin living a normal life.

But the existence of an infinite number of alternate realities makes it impossible to simply leave the past behind. Jason’s obsession with the mysterious Box grows stronger, and the characters once again have to face the consequences of traveling between worlds.

The second season consists of ten episodes, which will be released weekly.

“The Dog Stars”

For a more serious movie night, you can choose Ridley Scott’s new film.

The story takes place after a pandemic has wiped out most of the world’s population. Pilot Hig lives at an abandoned airfield with his dog Jasper and former Marine Bangley. They try to stay away from danger and survive in this new world.

Everything changes when Hig hears an unknown signal over the radio. He decides to find out whether there are other survivors somewhere out there and sets off in search of the signal’s source.

Jacob Elordi plays the lead role. The film also stars Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney.
