What to play in 2025? A selection from the ninja

news

2025 has just begun, and a wave of new games has already been released, now all that's left is to find time to play them. From historical RPGs like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II to stylish co-op adventures like Split Fiction.

Our selection includes only the brightest releases: both sequels to cult series and new projects that could become this year’s biggest discoveries.

Choose what to play this spring. And don’t forget about Ninja Sushi!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

The long-awaited sequel to the medieval RPG from Czech studio Warhorse did not disappoint fans. A direct continuation of the story of Henry of Skalitz, who seeks revenge on Hungarian King Sigismund for the death of his parents.

The second part of Kingdom Come offers players a world twice as large, real-world locations, improved graphics, updated combat, and expanded NPC interaction.

You can also try yourself as a medieval alchemist, masterfully preparing potions like a Ninja Sushi chef.

Split Fiction

A new co-op game from Swedish studio Hazelight, created by the same developers who gave us It Takes Two and A Way Out.

Split Fiction is played in pairs, so call a friend or partner. There are tons of levels to explore — some in fantasy medieval settings, others in a sci-fi cyberpunk-inspired style.

Each level introduces unique mechanics, including dragon riding and navigating laser traps. Success requires teamwork.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

A true gem in today’s selection, released by the young French studio Sandfall Interactive, with a team that includes some former Ubisoft developers.

The game is inspired by Japanese RPGs with turn-based mechanics, giving players time to plan the perfect move.

The story is rich in atmosphere: the game is set in a dark fantasy world where an annual ritual erases everyone whose age matches a number written by a mysterious entity known as the Painter. Expedition #33 sets out to end the cycle.

We could share more plot details, but it's best you discover them yourself. The music is especially worth mentioning — the soundtrack is stunning and sure to stay with you.

Blue Prince

A very unconventional puzzle game with rogue-like elements. Players take on the role of a man hoping to inherit his uncle’s estate, but to claim it, he must find the mysterious 46th room in the ever-changing Mount Holly mansion.

Each day, the mansion reshapes its rooms. Players must choose one of three rooms, creating a unique route. With limited steps per run, careful planning, puzzle-solving, and exploration are key.

Blue Prince blends board game strategy, procedural generation, and classic puzzle adventure atmosphere.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The fourteenth game in the beloved series takes players to feudal Japan in the late 16th century, during the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Two heroes are at the story’s core: Naoe — a ninja of the Iga clan, and Yasuke — an African samurai serving under Oda Nobunaga.

You can choose your playstyle: stealth as a ninja or brute force through waves of enemies.

The world features seasonal changes that affect gameplay — frozen ponds in winter, tall grass for stealth in summer.

If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed, this one’s for you.

What else are we waiting for?

This year is packed with major releases, and the race for Game of the Year will be intense.

We’re expecting Death Stranding 2, the “courier simulator” by Hideo Kojima, Ghost of Yōtei — a new Japan-set game from the creators of Ghost of Tsushima, and a new Mafia game about the rise of organized crime — this time set in Sicily.

As for GTA VI, it’s been officially delayed to next year to ensure a polished release. So while we wait, let’s enjoy the trailer.

Timeless classics

Let’s not forget session-based games that are always relevant. The ninja fully support you gathering your crew and jumping into a match of Dota 2, CS2, or Warzone.

And if you're going to play — do it right, with Ninja Sushi. Why not place an order now?
