Ninja Book Club: what to read in December?

We share the best movies and series regularly, recently raffled off keys to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and even music was recommended at the end of October.

So today, for the sake of variety, we launch a new column: meet Ninja Book Club. We have collected 6 stories of different genres, which are united by a common winter vibe.

First we walk around rainy Tokyo, then we go on a journey to a magical country where people have dæmons-animals that are a reflection of their souls, well, and finally enjoy a romantic story of a young couple and, of course, end our journey within the walls of the legendary Hogwarts.

"Northern Lights" (Philip Pullman)

A fantasy adventure into a world infused with magic. Where people have animal dæmons that are a reflection of their souls. The main character of the story is an orphan living in Oxford, but at one point she moves to London to study at Jordan College. That's where her story begins, full of unexpected twists and turns and betrayals.

"Christmas Stories" (Charles Dickens)

A collection of Christmas tales, but tales for adults. After all, behind each familiar story hides a deep meaning laid down by the author. There are almost no stories with happy endings, because, as in life, all dreams sometimes collide with harsh reality.

"Cold Enough for Snow" (Jessica Au)

Get ready for a trip to Tokyo. There are canal walks on autumn evenings, torrential rains, galleries and cozy little cafes. All the while, mother and daughter talk about everything - weather, clothes, horoscopes and family. But what is the true purpose of their journey?

"Midnight in Everwood" (M. A. Kuzniar)

This story is about the fact that all dreams can come true, it only takes a trip to a magical land. A luxurious life in a sugar palace, no worries and many mysteries to be solved.

However, is this what a young girl really dreamed of?

"Harry Potter" (J.K. Rowling)

Ninjas are sure that no New Year's Eve set can do without Joanne Rowling's fantasy universe. Is it possible to turn down the opportunity to return to the walls of the legendary Hogwarts?

We think the plot of Harry Potter needs no introduction, so we leave this as a recommendation.

"Every Day in December" (Kitty Wilson)

An option for those who want to read something romantic. She is a sophisticated nature who just loves the works of Shakespeare. He is an outwardly good-looking guy, financially wealthy and with a successful career, but he still can't forget the events of five years ago, which took place on Christmas Eve.

Can love help him overcome his past problems?
