Best Chris Evans Movies

news

Yesterday, on June 13, Chris Evans turned 45. To mark the occasion, we put together a selection of the actor’s best roles.

The list turned out to be very diverse, but we simply couldn’t leave out his most iconic role — Captain America.

Knives Out

In Rian Johnson’s detective film, the actor played Ransom Drysdale — a self-confident, sarcastic, and extremely charming heir to a wealthy family. After the mysterious death of famous writer Harlan Thrombey, all of his relatives become suspects, while eccentric detective Benoit Blanc takes on the investigation.

Evans does a great job here of breaking his familiar image as the righteous hero: his character is irritating, funny, and attention-grabbing in almost every scene.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

One of the best solo films about Captain America and, perhaps, the strongest Steve Rogers story within Marvel.

After the events of The Avengers, Chris Evans’ character tries to get used to the modern world and continues working for S.H.I.E.L.D. However, he soon becomes caught up in a conspiracy that calls into question everything he trusted.

The film successfully combines superhero action, a spy thriller, and the hero’s personal drama. This is where Captain America finally stops being just a symbol and becomes a living character with his own doubts, pain, and principles.

Snowpiercer

A dark dystopia by director Bong Joon Ho, in which Chris Evans played one of his most serious roles.

After a global catastrophe, the remnants of humanity live on a huge train that endlessly moves across a frozen planet. Inside the train, a strict social hierarchy rules: the poor are in the tail section, while the rich are closer to the front.

Evans’ character becomes one of the leaders of the uprising. This is far from the familiar image of a noble superhero: his character is broken, exhausted, and forced to carry a heavy burden from the past.

Gifted

A warm and emotional drama in which Chris Evans shows a completely different side of his acting range.

He plays Frank — a man raising his young niece Mary. The girl has outstanding mathematical abilities, but Frank tries to give her a normal childhood instead of turning her life into an endless race for achievements.

It is a calm and humane film about family, responsibility, choice, and love for those close to you. A great option for anyone who wants to see Evans not in action mode, but in a softer and more dramatic role.

Avengers: Endgame

The film that became the emotional conclusion to a major Marvel chapter and one of the key points in Captain America’s story.

After the defeat by Thanos, the remaining heroes try to find a way to bring back what was lost and fix the consequences of the catastrophe. For Steve Rogers, this story becomes not only another battle for the world, but also a personal finale to the journey that began back in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Yes, this is not a Chris Evans solo film, but Endgame is impossible to imagine without him. His Captain America gets several truly iconic moments here.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

A bright, stylish, and very unusual comedy by Edgar Wright, where Chris Evans has a small but memorable role.

He plays Lucas Lee — a self-obsessed movie star and one of Ramona Flowers’ ex-boyfriends, whom the main character has to fight. The character appears only briefly, but instantly steals the spotlight thanks to his absurd charisma and parody-level coolness.

The film is perfect for those who love dynamic editing, comic-book style, video game references, and strange humor.
